Where was influenza first discovered
Herodotus sites one instance of influenza infection 2400 years back. However, much did not come to light then. In 1918, J.S. Koen, a vet, cited similarities between flu symptoms in pigs and the Spanish flu pandemic. Other researchers who worked on flu include N. McBryde and Robert Shope. Shope successfully identified the causative agent as virus for this disease later.Patrick Laidrow,Christopher Andrews and Wilson Smith identified flu virus first in 1933.
