My friend developed a horrible fear of throwing up in public (he doesn’t have a fear of puking at home though or in a car, just when he’s out in public in front of ppl).. so whenever he goes out to stores or other places, he gets bad panic attacks (nausea, dry mouth, heart races, sweaty palms, excessive swallowing, etc) but when he leaves he feels fine. It all started with a bout of stomach virus 2 months ago.

Research on influenza includes studies on molecular virology, how the virus produces disease (pathogenesis), host immune responses, viral genomics, and how the virus spreads (epidemiology). These studies help in developing influenza countermeasures; for example, a better understanding of the body’s immune system response helps vaccine development, and a detailed picture of how influenza invades cells aids the development of antiviral drugs. One important basic research program is the Influenza Genome

Presence of viral infection in the stomach interferes with the body’s ability to digest food properly and triggers a medical problem, known as stomach flu. In this condition, the lining of the stomach is swollen. The virus also invades the small and the large intestines, making them inflamed. The stomach virus is basically an intestinal infection (gastroenteritis) that is often the result of eating contaminated food. Stomach virus treatment becomes imperative when symptoms like diarrhea, nausea or abdominal cramps do not stop without medical intervention.

I think I have an ulcer in my stomach, I looked up the symptoms and they seem to match mine, I really do not like having to have to take anything perscibed by a doctor who isn’t holistic. At the moment I don’t have the money to spend on a doctor of any type. Is there anything I can do here at home that will help heal it? Also, what can cause stomach ulcers?

Risk factors include consumption of improperly prepared foods or contaminated water and travel or residence in areas of poor sanitation. It is also common for river swimmers to become infected during times of rain as a result of contaminated runoff water

I need to flatten my stomach a little, but I suffer from back pain and the longer I avoid doing exercise in fear of my back pain the worse my stomach muscles are becoming. I would appreciate any info on what are good exercises for the tummy area that do not trigger off back pain.

For a list of bacteria causing gastroenteritis, see above. Pseudo membranous colitis is an important cause of diarrhea in patients often recently treated with antibiotics. Traveler’s diarrhea is usually a type of bacterial gastroenteritis.

For people in good health, consuming 20 to 25 percent of calories from protein won’t harm the kidneys. For people with diabetes or early-stage kidney disease, however, the American Diabetes Association recommends limiting protein intake to 0.8 to 1.0 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight (roughly 10 percent of energy intake),
